Wait for new fow build Just got tossed out of the fissure of woe trying to solo the wailing lord quest. Was 1/2 way done with it and over aggro'd a couple extra ether breakers

And yes I posted this( new build) at gwonline over a month ago in my original thread which was started probably almost a year ago. Probably where you and your friends got the idea. It's not on the first page of it since they don't let you edit months later. But it's there with screenshots and a pic of new fow build towards the last few pages.

Thx for the guide\vids Kcp. i was able to get to the smites and able to kill em but the phantoms are a pain in the butt! does anyone know if a FFS would kick your armor low enough to where the phantoms do enough dmg to trigger spirit bond?

Graspings shouldnt give you any problems at all if you follow my directions in the guide. They die in 1 spiteful spirit, you only cast PS and spirit bond 1 time. Not much can go wrong there.

If you tank them with 55 health, mending does the rest really when spirit bond doesn't trigger.

You customized your wand right? And it's the one I told you to get in guide right?

It will take 1-3 hits, most times only 2, to kill the nightmares. Use the safe spot if you're not comfortable wanding nightmares with aatxe beating on you. You do know where the safe spot is right? Use the ghosts to body block aatxe, benton or sarah will work. Sarah's use req's more experience then benton. You can even hide behind the lost soul =p.

This is what I do whenever I start a run. Observe how the aatxe are moving. For example the 3 aatxe at the top of the left stairs. If 2 are stationary and the other one is patrolling you will have a very slim chance of a nightmare appearing when you aggro these 3. Yes sometimes a nightmare will spawn and that's when it gets the wand.

If all 3 are stationary you are guaranteed a 1-2 nightmare spawns when aggroing that group of aaatxe. You can either run back and hide behind the ghosts or kill the nightmares while tanking aatxe. If you chose to hide and be safe wand the nightmares or let them rend you. If there's 2 nightmares and 1 rends you make sure to renew PS, the second nightmare will then attempt to rend you again.

Always select the last enemy in the group you are planning to aggro that way if a nightmare appears all you have to do is press your tab key 1x and press space, then you have a dead nightmare. You will know with experience if the 2nd wand hits is going to kill it. If you are uncertain as to the death of the nightmare with your second wand attack quickly press your run button AS soon as the second wand attack leaves your wand,( if you don't have a button designated on your keyboard to run you should make one, "R" is the normal key.) If the nightmare rends recast PS, SB as soon as possible. Then run to safe area and recast maintained enchants, then go about your business.

Same deal as above if 2 DN's spawn. Wand the first nightmare to appear by using tab to select it, manually clicking targets is too slow, space bar, 2 shots , then run. More then likely the 2 wand hits killed the first nightmare, and the second nightmare is finishing it's cast of rend enchantments, about to strip yours. I always tab to the second nightmare after the second wand hit is in flight on the original target to watch it's progress on casting rend enchantments. When it finishes casting rend just cast ps, sb and you're safe

Running in a curved path can keep enough distance that the aatxe wont be able to hit you for a few seconds

Probably sounds a little complicated but it really isn't.

Getting sucess with this run doesn't involve some secret tricks, just experience. Don't expect to breeze through the chamber the first time. Slowly, but steady you'll become better at it, and then you'll be giving them smites a serious beating..

Well with lvl 12 curses as a monk primary it will probably take 2 SS's to drop a group of graspings. I'll go dust off my monk and give it a try. Same principle it should work.

I have yet to get spiked down by graspings due to spirit bond not triggering with this build. Mending fills in the gaps when spirit bond doesnt trigger. All you have to do is stand there and wait for them to die.

The defense on your face scar really isnt important, you rarely take hits to the head so thats not your problem.

And as Anarion said you will need to practice so don't get mad if you die, learn from it, and alter your strategy accordingly. Every build and area has a learning curve if you are unfamiliar with it.

*tested and confirmed still as easy wtih mo/n. However no soul reaping after fights and the 8 damage lacking on SS slows down the run tremendously.

You do have +4 mending as a monk primary and a crapload of spare att's. You really shouldn't have any problems with the graspings. Just get your casts off b4 skull crack is charged and you'll be fine.

I have some problems with this now...

I cast mending 4 times with two cows, and none of them interupted.
I cast ss once, boom interupted.

O.o I'm annoyed!

Also I'm not sure if it's just lack of clicking skill or somethings wrong, but I can't kill the nightmares before they kill me, and there's absolutely no time to recast ps when he does use it when tanking the cows.

The aatxe probably used savage slash on you while you were setting them up and you did not notice. So when you were actually trying to bait out the interrupt it was recharging and you just picked the wrong moment to cast. It happens sometimes if you're not watching.

Secondly you shouldn't be physically "clicking" nightmares with your mouse while tanking aatxe to begin with

"Always select the last enemy in the group you are planning to aggro that way if a nightmare appears all you have to do is press your tab key 1x and press space, then you have a dead nightmare. Target the nightmare with your keyboard by following the directions I provided and press space to fire on it with your wand. Or hide behind the ghost. It's not like you can't outrun a dying nightmare and that 3 second long cast of rend enchantments.

What about smite hex? Won't the 85 armor-ignoring damage kill you instantly?

smite hex description, According to Guild wiki

"Remove a Hex from target ally. If a Hex is removed, foes in the area suffer 10...70 damage. "

where in there does it say it ignore armor?

and people have been doing protective spirit farming of these smite things for centuries, and before moses was born
